Ephesians 2:18
“For through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.”
What does Ephesians 2:18 mean?
Paul is describing something beautiful here: both Jewish and non-Jewish believers now stand equally before God through Christ, united by the same Spirit. Before Jesus, there were barriers and different pathways to approach God, but now everyone—regardless of background—has the same direct relationship with God the Father. The "access" word matters. It's like having an open door that was previously closed or restricted. When you're going through difficulty or feeling far from God, this reminds you that you already have a clear path to reach him. You don't need to earn it or find the right formula; you're already welcomed in.
