Ephesians 1:11
“in whom also we were assigned an inheritance, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who does all things after the counsel of his will;”
What does Ephesians 1:11 mean?
Being part of God's family means you're included in something lasting and meaningful, not by accident or luck, but by God's intentional choice. Paul is telling the Ephesians that their place in God's plan was settled before time even began, according to God's wise and purposeful design. The word "inheritance" suggests something precious that's been set aside for you, a secure promise rather than something you have to earn or prove yourself worthy of. This can be deeply comforting when life feels uncertain, because it means your belonging to God's story isn't dependent on your performance or circumstances on any given day.
