Ecclesiastes 3:5

What does Ecclesiastes 3:5 mean?
This verse captures the natural rhythm of letting go and holding on that defines human life. Just as farmers cleared rocks from fields for planting and then gathered them for walls or boundaries, we too move through seasons when we must release things and seasons when we must gather them close again. The second part extends this wisdom to relationships, acknowledging that there are times to draw near to people we love and times when we need distance, space, or restraint. Rather than suggesting that one approach is always right, the Teacher reminds us that wisdom lies in recognizing which season we're actually in, and having the grace to live accordingly without guilt.
