What does Deuteronomy 9:24 mean?
Moses is reminding the Israelites of their long pattern of turning away from God, right from the beginning of their relationship with him. He's not trying to shame them so much as wake them up to the truth: their struggles aren't new, and they can't claim ignorance about what God wants from them. This matters because it helps explain why they're standing on the edge of the promised land needing a fresh start.
