What does Deuteronomy 8:13 mean?
When life gets easier and your circumstances improve, it becomes surprisingly difficult to remember where your blessing came from. Moses is warning the Israelites that prosperity can quietly turn our hearts away from God, making us feel self-sufficient and forgetful of our dependence on him. The verse isn't saying wealth is wrong, but rather that abundance has a way of making us assume we earned everything ourselves.
