Deuteronomy 5:28
“Yahweh heard the voice of your words, when you spoke to me; and Yahweh said to me, “I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken to you. They have well said all that they have spoken.”
What does Deuteronomy 5:28 mean?
God is affirming the people of Israel when they approach Moses with reverence and a desire to listen to His laws. After hearing them speak, God tells Moses that their hearts are in the right place, even though they're afraid and asking Moses to be their go-between with God. This moment celebrates genuine seeking, the kind of honest approach to God that He welcomes, regardless of our fear or uncertainty. What matters most isn't perfect confidence or flawless words, but showing up with sincerity and a willingness to turn toward what is good and true.
