Deuteronomy 32:38
“which ate the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offering? Let them rise up and help you! Let them be your protection.”
What does Deuteronomy 32:38 mean?
God is sarcastically challenging the Israelites about the idols they've been trusting alongside him. Moses is asking: where are these gods now, when you've fed them with your sacrifices and finest offerings? If they're real and powerful, why can't they actually protect you or answer you?
