What does Deuteronomy 32:30 mean?
This is Moses reminding Israel that their military victories have never really been about superior numbers or strength. When one Israelite warrior could chase a thousand enemies, or two could rout ten thousand, something supernatural was at work, not military strategy. The verse is saying that whenever they've won against impossible odds, it's because God fought for them, and whenever they've been defeated, it's because God allowed it, not because their enemies were simply stronger.
