What does Deuteronomy 32:29 mean?

Moses is expressing a longing here, wishing that the people he's leading could see the consequences of their choices before it's too late. He's not angry in this moment, just deeply sad, recognizing that wisdom often means looking ahead to where our current path is actually taking us. When we're in the thick of making decisions, it's easy to miss the bigger picture of how those choices will shape our future, our relationships, and our peace of mind. This verse gently invites us to step back and ask ourselves: if we follow this road, where will we end up? Sometimes the most loving thing we can do for ourselves is to pause and consider the end result before we're already there.
