Deuteronomy 31:14
“Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, your days approach that you must die. Call Joshua, and present yourselves in the Tent of Meeting, that I may commission him.” Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the Tent of Meeting.”
What does Deuteronomy 31:14 mean?
God tells Moses that his time is nearly finished, and it's time to formally hand leadership to Joshua. Rather than leaving things uncertain or letting power slip away without purpose, God calls both men to meet together in the sacred tent so He can officially commission Joshua for what comes next. This moment shows God's care in transitions: He doesn't abandon His people when one leader departs, and He involves both the outgoing and incoming leader in the process, giving it weight and clarity.
