Deuteronomy 30:11
βFor this commandment which I command you today is not too hard for you or too distant.β
What does Deuteronomy 30:11 mean?
God is telling the people of Israel that following his ways isn't beyond their reach, either in difficulty or in understanding. The commandment he's speaking of isn't something mysterious hidden in the heavens or across the sea that only special people can grasp. It's been made clear to them, and they have what they need within themselves to choose obedience. This is a deeply encouraging word, especially for anyone who feels overwhelmed by faith or worried they're not "spiritual enough" to follow God. What's asked of you is real and possible, not impossible or reserved for someone else.
