Deuteronomy 26:11
“You shall rejoice in all the good which Yahweh your God has given to you, and to your house, you, and the Levite, and the foreigner who is among you.”
What does Deuteronomy 26:11 mean?
After bringing the first fruits of the harvest to God as an offering, the Israelites were invited to celebrate what they'd received, not alone but in community with the Levites (religious leaders who had no land of their own) and foreigners living among them. This was a deliberate reminder that blessings weren't meant to be hoarded or enjoyed in isolation, but shared with those who had less. The instruction captures something beautiful about joy itself: it multiplies and deepens when we include others in it, especially those who might otherwise be left out.
