“I will give grass in your fields for your livestock, and you shall eat and be full.”
What does Deuteronomy 11:15 mean?
God is making a promise about provision here, speaking directly to the Israelites about what they'll receive if they follow him faithfully. The picture is simple and concrete: enough food for your animals to graze on, which means enough food for you to eat until you're satisfied, with nothing left to worry about. This speaks to a fundamental human anxiety that hasn't changed much since ancient times, whether you're a shepherding community or someone working today: will there be enough?
