Deuteronomy 1:21
“Behold, Yahweh your God has set the land before you. Go up, take possession, as Yahweh, the God of your fathers, has spoken to you. Don’t be afraid, neither be dismayed.””
What does Deuteronomy 1:21 mean?
God is telling the Israelites that everything he promised is now within reach, and it's time to move forward in faith. The land they've been waiting for during years of wilderness wandering is actually available to them now, not as some distant dream but as a present reality. He's encouraging them to take action, to step into what he's given them, while also acknowledging the very real fear they might be feeling about the challenges ahead. The repeated reassurance not to be afraid or discouraged suggests that God knows this transition is scary, but he's reminding them that his promise remains solid and his presence remains with them.
