What does Daniel 6:21 mean?

Daniel speaks these words after surviving the night in a den of lions, and his greeting carries both relief and respect. In the ancient Near Eastern court culture, this was a formal, customary way to address a king, something like saying "Your Majesty" today. But here it also reflects genuine gratitude: Daniel is alive, the king is relieved his friend survived, and both can acknowledge God's protection. It's a simple moment of respect and connection between two people who have just witnessed something miraculous together.
