What does Colossians 3:13 mean?
Forgiveness isn't just about letting go of anger, though that matters. Paul is asking us to actively bear with each other, holding space for people's failures and shortcomings the way we'd want someone to hold space for ours. When conflicts come (and they will), we're called to release the grip of resentment rather than keep score. The reason he gives is simple and profound: Christ forgave you when you didn't deserve it, so extend that same grace to others. This isn't about pretending harm didn't happen or ignoring real hurt. It's about choosing not to let bitterness build a wall between you and someone else, just as Christ chose relationship with you despite everything.
