Amos 3:7

What does Amos 3:7 mean?
God doesn't operate in the shadows or keep his people completely in the dark about what's coming. When the Lord moves significantly in human history, he gives advance notice through those he's called to speak for him—the prophets—so his people have time to understand, prepare, or turn around. This verse reassured ancient Israel that they weren't abandoned to chaos, that God communicated with them through prophets like Amos himself. For us today, it speaks to a deeper truth: God is transparent about his character and intentions, revealing himself through Scripture, wise counsel, and the Spirit's promptings so we're never left guessing about where he's leading or what he cares about.
