Acts 9:16
“For I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name’s sake.””
What does Acts 9:16 mean?
When Jesus spoke these words about Paul (then called Saul), he was being honest about what following him would cost. Paul would face rejection, danger, and pain because of his faith, not in spite of it, but as part of his calling to tell others about Jesus. This isn't meant to scare us, but to remind us that commitment to faith sometimes means difficulty. Jesus himself never promised an easy path, only that he would be with us through hard things. For Paul, suffering actually became the channel through which his message reached people, and his willingness to endure gave his words real weight and credibility when he spoke to others who were struggling.
