What does Acts 8:2 mean?

After Stephen was killed for his faith, some courageous believers risked their own safety to give him a proper burial and publicly grieve for him. This act of devotion was countercultural in a dangerous moment, when associating with Stephen could have brought suspicion or persecution on them as well. Their willingness to mourn openly and honor him showed that Stephen's death didn't silence the community's faith, but actually strengthened their commitment to each other. Sometimes the most powerful witness we can give is simply showing up for those we've lost and refusing to let their memory be erased.
