What does Acts 7:48 mean?
Stephen speaks these words while defending himself before the council, and he's making a radical point: God cannot be contained or limited by any building, no matter how beautiful or sacred. Even the temple in Jerusalem, the holiest place in Jewish practice, is just made of stone and wood—too small for the one who created everything. This doesn't mean buildings for worship are wrong or that God isn't present when we gather together. Rather, Stephen is reminding people that true worship happens in the heart, and God's presence isn't dependent on location. When life circumstances keep you from a church building, or when you feel far from God in a physical place, remember that he's not waiting for you there—he meets you wherever you are.
