What does Acts 6:5 mean?
The early church was growing so fast that caring for widows and vulnerable people fairly had become complicated. To solve this problem, the apostles asked the community to identify trustworthy people who could handle this work with integrity and spiritual maturity. Stephen emerged as the choice—someone whose faith was visibly alive and whose character reflected the Holy Spirit's presence in his life. When a community agrees on choosing someone, it usually means that person has earned genuine respect through how they actually live, not just what they claim to believe.
