What does Acts 3:7 mean?
Peter's simple gesture of taking the beggar's hand and lifting him up becomes the moment everything changes. There's something powerful about physical touch here, especially when combined with Peter's confidence that healing is about to happen. The man's feet and ankles, which had never supported him before, suddenly become strong enough to bear his full weight, and he doesn't just stand, he springs to his feet and starts walking around. This moment works on two levels at once. On the surface, it's a remarkable physical healing of someone everyone in Jerusalem knew was unable to walk. But it's also Luke's way of showing us that following Jesus doesn't mean retreating from the world, waiting quietly for heaven. Instead, Peter and the other disciples are actively reaching out, touching people, and inviting them into new life. For those of us going through seasons where we feel stuck or unable to move forward, there's real comfort in knowing that sometimes healing and transformation come through the willingness of others to reach out and help us stand.
