Acts 3:25
“You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘In your offspring will all the families of the earth be blessed.’”
What does Acts 3:25 mean?
Peter is speaking to Jewish people in Jerusalem, reminding them that they inherit both the promises God made to their ancestors and the responsibility that comes with them. He's pointing out that the blessing God promised Abraham, thousands of years earlier, was always meant to extend to all people everywhere, not stay contained within one group. When he says they're "children of the prophets," he means they're part of a long lineage of people who witnessed God's faithfulness and passed that testimony forward. This verse invites listeners to see themselves not as the end point of God's plan, but as the bridge through which His blessing reaches the whole world, which is a humbling and empowering calling.
