Acts 27:7
“When we had sailed slowly many days, and had come with difficulty opposite Cnidus, the wind not allowing us further, we sailed under the lee of Crete, opposite Salmone.”
What does Acts 27:7 mean?
Paul and his fellow travelers are on a ship headed to Rome, but they're fighting against a headwind that makes progress painfully slow. Instead of pushing through, they make the practical choice to sail along Crete's sheltered side, where the island blocks the worst of the wind.
