What does Acts 22:8 mean?
Paul (then called Saul) is recounting the moment on the Damascus road when his whole life changed. He encountered a blinding light and heard a voice, and when he asked who was speaking, Jesus identified himself directly and pointedly told Saul that by persecuting Christians, he was actually persecuting Jesus himself. That simple question—"Who are you, Lord?"—opened the door to Paul's complete transformation from Christianity's fiercest opponent into its greatest missionary. There's something deeply human in that exchange. Paul asked the most basic question you can ask when encountering something that shatters your understanding of reality, and the answer he received reoriented everything he believed and everything he would become.
