What does Acts 22:12 mean?
Ananias was a respected member of the Damascus Jewish community, someone whose faith was genuine and whose character was trusted by those around him. Paul mentions him while recounting to a hostile crowd how God used this ordinary believer to restore his sight and set him on his new path after encountering Jesus. There's something quietly beautiful here: at a moment when Paul desperately needed help, God sent not a famous apostle or mighty figure, but a faithful neighbor whom people already knew and believed in. It reminds us that God often works through the steady, trustworthy people in our own communities, the ones we might overlook precisely because they're faithful in small things rather than dramatic ones.
