What does Acts 2:27 mean?
This is Peter quoting King David's ancient psalm, applying it to Jesus after the resurrection. The words express confidence that God won't abandon the faithful to death or let them experience the final corruption of the body. What David wrote centuries before became, in Peter's telling, a promise fulfilled in Jesus, who rose from the dead before his body could decay. For the early Christians hearing this, it meant God's power over death itself was now real and visible, not just a hope for the distant future.
