What does Acts 2:15 mean?
Peter is defending the disciples against the crowd's accusation that they're intoxicated. He's pointing out the absurdity of being drunk at 9 a.m., when the day's work has just begun, using common sense that would have been obvious to anyone listening. What the crowd is actually witnessing, Peter explains, is the Holy Spirit at work, not alcohol. This moment captures how the disciples' joy and boldness after receiving the Spirit was so unusual that onlookers struggled to make sense of it, grasping for the most ordinary explanation they could find. Sometimes when God moves in our lives in powerful ways, people around us may misunderstand or dismiss what's happening, and like Peter, we're called to speak truth clearly.
