What does 2 Thessalonians 2:4 mean?
Paul is describing someone (many believe the "man of lawlessness" he mentions earlier) who will reject God entirely and demand worship for himself instead. The image of sitting in God's temple and claiming to be God shows the ultimate rebellion: not just breaking God's rules, but demanding to take God's place in people's hearts and lives.
