What does 2 Thessalonians 1:6 mean?
God cares deeply about injustice and suffering, and this verse assures us that he won't ignore when people harm others. The apostle Paul is writing to Christians facing persecution, reminding them that God's justice is real and will eventually balance the scales. This doesn't mean we should seek revenge ourselves (Paul actually teaches against that elsewhere), but rather that we can trust God to see what's happening and to act with perfect fairness. For anyone carrying the weight of mistreatment or watching others suffer unfairly, this is meant as comfort: God notices, God cares, and the final word belongs to him, not to those causing the harm.
