What does 2 Kings 8:11 mean?
Elisha is visiting the king of Aram when something shifts in the moment. The prophet looks directly at the king with an intensity that makes the king deeply uncomfortable, almost ashamed under that penetrating gaze. Then Elisha himself begins to weep. What Elisha sees in this moment, or perhaps what God reveals to him about the king's future, moves him to tears, and his grief becomes a wordless but powerful message in itself. Sometimes our deepest convictions about someone else's path or choices affect us so profoundly that words aren't enough, and our tears speak louder than explanation ever could.
