What does 2 John 1:11 mean?
When John warns against welcoming false teachers into your home or community, he's not suggesting you should be unkind to people who believe differently. He's pointing out something more practical: when you actively support someone's harmful work, you become part of it. If you provide them a platform, resources, or endorsement, you're essentially helping spread whatever damage they're doing. This doesn't mean Christians should be isolating or suspicious of everyone. It's specifically about those actively leading people away from the gospel. The principle is that our choices about who we support and amplify matter. Sometimes the most loving thing we can do is decline to participate in spreading deception, even when that feels uncomfortable or unkind in the moment.
