What does 2 Corinthians 8:14 mean?
Paul is describing a beautiful principle of Christian community: we help one another based on what we have right now, trusting that circumstances change and we'll all get turns being both giver and receiver. His point isn't that everyone should have identical amounts, but that no one in the faith community should be left desperate while others have excess. When you give from your abundance today, you're not creating debt; you're planting seeds of generosity that come back around when you face your own hardships.
