What does 2 Chronicles 33:3 mean?
King Manasseh undid his father's spiritual reforms, rebuilding the pagan altars and shrines that Hezekiah had carefully torn down. Instead of following God, he turned to worshiping Baal and other false gods, along with heavenly bodies treated as divine. This verse shows how quickly one generation's faithfulness can be reversed when the next generation chooses a different path, and how easy it is to slip back into practices we know are wrong. What's helpful to know: Manasseh became king as a young boy and apparently had no one to guide him toward his father's faith. His story doesn't end here, though. Later in Chronicles, we see that he repented after facing real consequences, and God restored him.
