2 Chronicles 33:13
“He prayed to him; and he was entreated by him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that Yahweh was God.”
What does 2 Chronicles 33:13 mean?
King Manasseh had done terrible things, including leading Judah into idolatry and bloodshed, but when he was captured and suffering in a foreign land, something shifted in him. He cried out to God in genuine desperation, and God listened and restored him to his throne and his home. This moment of restoration became the turning point where Manasseh finally understood who God really was, not as a distant idea but as someone actually present and powerful in his life. The verse reminds us that it's never too late to turn back toward God, and that sometimes our darkest moments are exactly where we're most ready to truly see and know him.
