What does 2 Chronicles 11:5 mean?
After the kingdom split following Solomon's death, Rehoboam found himself ruling only the southern tribes of Judah. Rather than waste energy trying to reclaim the lost northern kingdom, he made a practical choice: he fortified cities throughout his remaining territory to create a defensive network. This shows someone responding to a difficult loss by securing what he still had, building infrastructure and protection for his people rather than chasing what was gone.
