What does 1 Timothy 6:9 mean?
The desire to get rich at any cost can trap us in a cycle of harmful choices that ultimately destroys us. Paul isn't saying that having money is wrong, but rather that *pursuing wealth as our main goal* leads to temptations we can't resist: greed, envy, dishonesty, and obsession with having more. These desires pull us under like a riptide, drowning out what actually matters and leaving our lives and relationships in ruins. He's warning us that when money becomes what we're really living for, it becomes a snare that catches us before we even realize we're trapped.
