What does 1 Samuel 23:3 mean?
David's men are wrestling with real fear. They're already anxious in their current hiding place in Judah, and now David is asking them to do something that feels impossibly dangerous, so they're pushing back: "If we're this scared already, why would we walk into an actual military confrontation?"
