1 Samuel 22:1

David therefore departed from there, and escaped to the cave of Adullam. When his brothers and all his father’s house heard it, they went down there to him.

What does 1 Samuel 22:1 mean?

When David fled for his life from King Saul's jealous rage, he found refuge in a cave near Adullam, a town in Judah. What's striking here is what happens next: his own family, hearing where he was hiding, made the difficult journey to join him. These weren't people of influence or comfort—they were choosing to stand with someone the king wanted dead, risking their own safety in the process. In that dark cave, surrounded by danger, David discovered he wasn't alone. Sometimes our lowest moments become the places where we learn who truly stands with us, and how love shows up in the hardest circumstances.
