What does 1 Peter 4:3 mean?
Peter is speaking to early Christians who have left behind lifestyles of excess and empty pleasures, reminding them that they've already spent enough time chasing those kinds of satisfactions. The list he gives (drunkenness, sexual excess, wild parties, and false worship) represents the kind of life that leaves people feeling hollow, even in the moment.
