1 Peter 3:11
βLet him turn away from evil, and do good. Let him seek peace, and pursue it.β
What does 1 Peter 3:11 mean?
When life feels chaotic or we're caught in conflict, Peter invites us to make a deliberate choice: stop doing what harms and start doing what helps. This isn't about being perfect, but about the conscious decision to turn our feet in a different direction, to replace destruction with kindness. The second part adds something important, though. Peace isn't something that just happens to us or that we stumble into. We have to actively seek it out and chase after it, especially when it would be easier to stay angry or defensive. Peter is reminding us that pursuing peace takes the same energy and intention we might put into pursuing anything else we truly want, and that it's worth that effort.
