1 Peter 1:11

What does 1 Peter 1:11 mean?

Peter is reminding his readers that the Old Testament prophets were genuinely curious about what they were writing. They spoke of Christ's suffering and coming glory, but they didn't fully understand *when* these things would happen or how they fit together, even as God's Spirit was moving through their words. It's a beautiful acknowledgment that these ancient prophets were real people with real questions, faithfully passing along messages whose full meaning wouldn't become clear until Jesus came. This matters for people going through hard times because it shows that confusion and waiting are part of how God works. The prophets trusted God even when the complete picture remained hidden from them, just as we're sometimes called to trust without seeing the whole story unfold yet.
