What does 1 Peter 1:10 mean?

The prophets of the Old Testament spent their lives trying to understand what God was revealing through them about how he would save humanity. They glimpsed something beautiful coming, a kind of unearned favor and restoration that God promised, but they didn't live to see it arrive. When Peter writes to early Christians, he's telling them they're actually living in the fulfillment of what those ancient voices only caught distant glimpses of, which makes their faith something special and grounded in history. It's a gentle way of saying: what you're experiencing now through Jesus is what faithful people have been longing for and believing in, sometimes without fully understanding it, for centuries.
