What does 1 John 4:11 mean?
John is reminding us that we've already been shown what love looks like, so we have both a model and a responsibility. God's love toward us came without conditions, without waiting for us to deserve it, and at great cost. When we truly grasp that we've been loved like that, it naturally reshapes how we treat the people around us. This isn't about working harder or feeling guilty. It's an invitation to let God's extravagant care for us overflow into how we care for each other.
