1 John 3:5
βYou know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and in him is no sin.β
What does 1 John 3:5 mean?
Jesus came into the world with one clear purpose: to remove the weight of our wrongdoing, to absorb what separates us from God and from wholeness. The writer reminds us that this wasn't a rescue mission led by someone flawed or compromised, but by someone completely pure and untainted. Because Jesus himself carried no sin, his sacrifice actually means something, actually reaches deep enough to heal what's broken in us. There's comfort in knowing that the one who forgives us isn't doing it from a place of his own struggle or failure, but from a place of perfect love and integrity.
