1 Corinthians 14:40
βLet all things be done decently and in order.β
What does 1 Corinthians 14:40 mean?
Paul wraps up his teaching on spiritual gifts by calling the church to simple maturity: conduct your worship and life together with basic respect and organization. He's not being rigid or joyless, but rather saying that chaos and confusion don't actually honor God or help anyone grow in faith. When everything is done thoughtfully and with some structure, people can actually hear God's voice, feel welcomed, and understand what's happening around them. Even the most Spirit-filled communities need a little order so that everyone, not just the confident few, can participate and feel cared for.
