What does 1 Corinthians 14:39 mean?
Paul is encouraging the Corinthian church to value the spiritual gifts that build people up, especially prophecy (speaking God's truth in ways that help others). He's not saying "do these things equally" or that one gift matters more than another, but rather that they should stop suppressing what the Spirit is doing among them.
