What does 1 Corinthians 11:25 mean?
When Jesus shared the cup with his disciples after their meal, he was connecting it to something the whole Jewish people had been waiting for. God had made an old covenant with Israel through Moses, sealed with animal blood, but Jesus was saying his own blood would create a new and better agreement between God and humanity. By asking them to remember him through this simple act of drinking, he was saying that every time they gathered to do this, they'd be reconnecting with what his death accomplished for them.
