What does 1 Corinthians 10:24 mean?
Paul is calling us to shift our default mindset from "What do I want?" to "What would help the person in front of me?" This doesn't mean you disappear or never care for yourself, but rather that you lead with generosity and consideration instead of self-protection. When you're deciding how to act, spend your time, or use your resources, let someone else's wellbeing be your first question. This is radical because most of us naturally prioritize our own comfort and interests, and that's what we see rewarded everywhere. Paul is suggesting that genuine community, and genuine faith, means learning to think differently. The good news is that when people in a group actually do this for each other, everyone ends up better off, not worse.
