Zechariah 14:7
“It will be a unique day which is known to Yahweh; not day, and not night; but it will come to pass, that at evening time there will be light.”
What does Zechariah 14:7 mean?
Zechariah is describing the day of the Lord, when God will finally restore all things and darkness will give way to His presence. The prophet is saying that on this future day, the normal order of creation (day turning to night) will be overturned, and even as evening falls, light will remain and spread instead of fading into darkness. For people living through difficult times, this verse carries hope: it promises that God knows a future where the "darkness" of suffering and injustice doesn't have the final word. The light breaking through at the darkest hour suggests both God's power to transform what seems hopeless and His intimate knowledge of when and how He will bring that transformation.
